It's actually not bad, but at some point I found myself wishing that the author would quit throwing yet another "hey, it's ok, we're going to be rescued, just a matter of hours now! ... oh, wait, no, false alarm, we're all gonna die. again." and get on with the rescue - and it's a disappointment when he does because they solve the seventy ninth problem and the eightieth simply doesn't come up, which ends up being kinda weird. Entertainment-level-wise it's a little off - it fails to have a moral (beyond that of "being extremely nasty to your children is bad"), it fails to have anything resembling character development, and overall it's an amalgation of the first three pages being something that Lemony Snickett would have written, followed by a syrupy goo of stuff.
