Nike is the world’s leading manufacturer of apparel for basketball, and that is what everyone knew. However the company took everyone by surprise when in August 1996 it signed up Tiger Woods to endorse its products. Everyone wondered why a basketball company would take a just-turned golf professional as its brand ambassador. The mystery unfolded soon when Nike started creating its own lines of golfing equipments. Thus with the help of Tiger Woods Nike was able to create the fasted growing golfing equipment and they introduced a lot of innovation into Nike golf clubs with the help of modern technology.
Over time Nike introduced designs of very high technology in their golf clubs which incorporated changes in the material to manufacture such golf clubs. The standard material for making golf clubs was titanium which Nike changed to another form of titanium which was much lighter. They called it NexTi and used it to manufacture SasQuatch line of tour drivers which became very popular. Along with this new metal Nike started designing club heads with weight displacement technology along with geometric design to make the perfect club. It is therefore no wonder that Nike’s golf clubs have become the toast of the golfing professionals.
